Over 50 Years of Excellence in Stained Glass Craft and Conservation
Richard Wright was born in 1960, and is a graduate of the Edinburgh College of Art (1982) and the Glasgow School of Art (1995). He was awarded the prestigious Turner Prize in 2009. Wright's work furnishes architectural spaces with intricate and often transient geometric patterns. As part of an impressive portfolio, examples of his work have appeared in major international exhibitions including those hosted by Kunsthalle, Bern (2001), Tate Liverpool, Liverpool (2001), GAMeC, Bergamo (2005), Gagosian Gallery, New York (2005), Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh (2008), Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh (2010), Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (2013), Tate Britain, London (2013), Gagosian Gallery, Rome (2015), and Gagosian Gallery, Hong Kong (2017). Most of his artworks are destroyed after being exhibited.
The 91Ãâ·Ñ are proud to have worked closely with Richard Wright in the development and fabrication of stained glass artworks for several of his temporary and permanent displays. These labour intensive untitled artworks use intricately cut, unpainted, and highly textured glass pieces.
